Mizzou Branding from CAFNR

Branded Social Media Graphics for Award Ceremonies & Senior Spotlight Campaign

Though a number of events were moved to a virtual format over the last year, CAFNR still celebrated with a social media campaign centered around each award series: Celebration of Excellence, CAFNR Alumni Awards, Outstanding Students and the new Senior Spotlight, featuring a graduating senior from each degree program. The graphics needed to be similar in Mizzou look and feel but be distinctive enough to separate the different awards via social. More than 38 unique graphics showcased CAFNR people and their accomplishments.

Postcard Designed for our Director of Recruitment

The purpose of this piece was to show prospective students that despite the disruption of COVID, students could still experience hands-on learning in CAFNR. More than 5,000 postcards were mailed regionally: Missouri, Illinois, Kansas and Texas.

Event Graphics

CAFNR hosts a variety of events, both in-person and virtual. From dedicating a new classroom space for the university’s first Black teacher, Henry Kirklin, to a social media campaign for National Weatherperson’s Day, custom graphics reflected the tone of each event. For National Weatherperson’s Day, we created a webpage on CAFNR where atmospheric sciences alumni could download a customized graphic designed by Reagan Brown to use on their own social media. We received 79 unique views of the webpage and Emmy-winning meteorologists engaged with CAFNR on social with a combined reach of almost 40,000 on Twitter and Facebook. Science Night now has its own graphic identifier, an ink stamp, thanks to a partnership with Jessi Church in refining the design.

Banners Designed for Trowbridge Event Center & CAFNR Office of Academic Programs

Trowbridge Livestock Center was converted to a socially-distanced classroom for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters so that students could have class in person. More than 2,700 students were in this new classroom each week, so we made large posters to go around the top of the arena featuring CAFNR degrees and a snapshot of career opportunities within each one.

After seeking permission from Mizzou Identity for this special marketing piece, Reagan Brown designed the spirit tiger pennant for Senior Associate Dean Bryan Garton as a Mizzou-branded gift of appreciation for teachers who brought their students to campus for a CAFNR visit. He had the pennants fitted with a dowel rod so that they can hang on display in their classrooms. Dr. Garton sent out more than 80 pennants across the state.

Graduation Memories Booklet

As part of our virtual commencement celebration, we created a graduation memories booklet from student-submitted material. Nothing could replace an in-person ceremony but we hoped our offering was still meaningful to our grads. Our graduation memories booklet had more than 460 readers.
